The Sir Howard Morrison Performing Arts Centre has been home to some of Rotorua’s most exciting and diverse cultural and arts exposes.

Following a seismic risk assessment in late 2017 the venue was closed with work beginning immediately to find a resolution. Significant progress has been made since and a projected completion date of 2021 announced.

The upgraded venue will see it competing with other top New Zealand venues, and continue to be a hub for the wide range of talented performing arts groups that exist in Rotorua.

Funding for the project has come from multiple channels including the Rotorua Lakes Council, Glenn Family Foundation, RECT, NZ Lotteries Grant Board, NZCT, Ngati Whakaue, and the One Foundation.
